What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve for its peaceful atmosphere, abundant birdlife, and scenic walks along the river and canal. It's a great spot for dog owners and families, though some note the limited amenities and potential for muddy, flooded paths after rain.
"Such a beautiful walk, so peaceful and our pup loved it! A great place to walk, highly recommend. Good amount of parking too. If you do take a pup we saw only 1 poo bin by the car park as a warning. We went on a Saturday and it was still quite quiet."
Rachel Chambers
"Pleasant walk with a few trails and maps dotted around to help keep you on track. Good terrain for winter. Nice river and canal walks close by. Few free car parking spots nearby as well."
Chris Newman
"This beautiful location is ideal for an extended walk in the nature. There are loads of bird species and depending on the time of year, ponies as well. The paved walkways are easy going but it can get muddy and puddly so have a pair of wellies just in case. Bring binoculars if you have them. We often see lots of lads fishing and they say it’s a nice spot."
