The expansive sea and sky, along with opportunities for birdwatching and seal spotting, are frequently highlighted as major draws. Some find the causeway walk a bit challenging, and seasonal dog restrictions can be a drawback for pet owners.

"Lovely walk, dogs not allowed during nesting season."

Geoff Blake

"A small island off the Furness Peninsula inhabited only by a bird warden during the summer months when dogs are not allowed. Popular with anglers and bird watchers. Reached by a causeway which is submerged at high tide so care is required when crossing. Similarly the mussel beds to the south of the island cover quickly on a rising tide and should be vacated promptly."

Mike Shaw

"5 stars because this is just an empty space that feels so isolated. Nothing there but an expanse of sea and sky, and a few birds of course. I love the light and sense of space.

You have to walk there along a half mile causeway which starts at the small car park on the road our to Roa Island. Beware causeway our to Foulney may not be passable at high tide!

Please like 👍🏼 if you find this review useful."
