What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Garth Hill for its breathtaking panoramic views of Cardiff and surrounding areas, making the steep ascent well worth the effort. The variety of trails appeals to different fitness levels, from challenging climbs to gentler walks. However, some visitors have noted issues with sheep droppings and, in rare instances, felt uncomfortable due to encounters with other individuals on the summit.
"Beautiful views over Cardiff after a taxing but enjoyable steep ascent. Met with sheep and the view along with the sping sun it was the perfect place for a beer.
Didn't make it to the top but gives an excuse for next time. 100% would recommend climbing. The photos alone are worth the walk."

"Beautiful location for a walk, with sights of Cardiff, castle coch and the brecon beacons once you reach the top.
There is a range of different paths you can't take to reach the top, whether you are looking for a challenging steep route for trail running or a relaxed, magical tree lined slow incline. The Garth has it all. Great place for a walk and very accessible if you live in Cardiff."
Michael Rowarth
"The view is amazing! You can see all the way to Cardiff Bay. So gorgeous.
I was shocked however with how much it was covered with sheep poop. Like a minefield! Had to thoroughly wash my shoes after.
I also met some questionable characters on top that made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. They were talking about some vulgar things and were trying to give a stick to my dog. Luckly, there was a man that lingered for a bit so I won't be alone with them. Needless to say I was going back to my car at the speed of light, while they were following me."
