Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Gladstone Pottery Museum as a fascinating and educational experience, particularly for its authentic preserved workshops and connection to 'The Great Pottery Throw Down'. The staff are frequently commended for their knowledge and passion. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some wish for more direct access to the show's filming studio.

"We went there on a family day out (and a bit of a pilgrimage to the home of The Great Pottery Throw Down!) We all had a really nice time, looking around a beautiful and intriguing museum. We spent a bit of time making a flower each, under the tutelage of Rita, who had a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. Each area was fascinating, and the cafe was both excellent and good value. We would definitely like to come back again. I think the only thing that might improve it a little would be access to the studio that Throw Down is filmed in, and maybe some more exhibits from the show. Overall, however, it is an excellent day out."

"Went for an afternoon visit. It was well worth the visit. The exhibitions were really good and informative videos around to watch. It’s a great site to explore and much bigger than you think. We certainly weren’t disappointed."

What a brilliant living museum.

This museum gave us far more than we bargained for, the self guided tour showed the process of pottery production from clay through to finished products, giving a glimpse into the brilliant yet ordinary people behind this craft.

The museum is one of the best I've visited, every area to a very high standard including operating exhibits giving you a real insight of how these potteries may have operated years ago.

The staff were all so polite, accommodating, knowledgeable and I feel passionate about pottery.
