"Nice castle in decent condition.
Set in an extremely idyllic and serene area. Really quiet and peaceful set in the countryside with fantastic views and that is before you even climb the tower in the Keep.
You start off with a lovely 5/10 minute walk. Then it is exploring time!
We really did make amazing castles!!!

"This is now only open on the weekend and is interesting as it has quite a few rooms to visit with stairs going up and down. Excellent views from the keep with very narrow staircase which was exciting!
4 stars because we weren't sure about some of the flooring- big concrete slabs. Lovely little café which was full; pleasant and sociable staff."

"Superb - really great visit to the castle today - loads more to see and explore than we thought! Nice little cafe and gift shop, plenty of parking. Do have yo pay to park and enter prices are typical for English heritage site (pricey) but the site is well worth a visit."
