"I hadn't been to Symonds Yat Rock for at least 15years prior to my visit yesterday.
I arrived at around 10am on a Thursday in October during term time and didn't have any issues with parking. I parked in the car park next to the toilet block, which was appreciated.
I decided to follow a marked route as then I didn't have to use a map or komoot to navigate and I could just enjoy the walking and scenery.
What really struck me was how quiet the woodlands were. My normal haunt is the New Forest and there are very few parts of it where you cant hear the hum of the motorway or other traffic. Symonds Yat really is a treasure where you can hear the birds and wind through the trees and not be bothered by cars.
It was quite hilly and uneven underfoot but the paths were well signposted.
Thoroughly recommend."

"We visited this wonderful forest during a cottage break in Symmonds Yat. There are several well sign posted walking routes, and fantastic view points. Lovely cafe, with friendly staff, who helped me when I accidentally left my rucksack in the forest while photographing fungi. A special huge thank you to Darren, one of the rangers, who found it for me the next morning, and contacted me to let me know, so I could collect it on our way back home to Kent. Absolutely amazing all round! Thank you!"
