Since I was at the Kelpies today I wanted to re-share this wee video I made about them last year while my beard was still intact.. During the Middle Ages, towering Flemish war horses filled the ranks of medieval armies, striking fear into many a foe. Fast forward to the early 18th century, when Scottish nobles imported these massive creatures to cross them with local Clyde Valley draught horses....

Visitors consistently praise The Kelpies as a stunning and impressive landmark, highlighting their monumental scale and artistic beauty. Many enjoy exploring the surrounding Helix park, finding it great for families with play areas and walking trails. "Really enjoyed seeing the kelpies. Couldn't get a ticket to go inside them but had a good walk around. 2 car parks and lots of accessibility. Cost £4.50 for the day and was well worth it for getting a good sight and enjoying the walk around. There was also food and drinks places but I didn't use them. Recommend this to go and visit and looked really impressive. If you have kids there is also other areas for them to do stuff too."

James Pickard

"Another site to visit whilst in Scotland.
This has to be one of the highlights of my visit to Scotland this year. Intended to see them last year but ran out of time on holiday.
This year was a priority to finally get to see them. We visited early evening so it would be a bit quieter, still plenty of people but not crowded.
I was not disappointed they are beautiful sculptures.
There are other sculptures/arty installations to see around the park also good for young and old alike.
They were definitely worth the visit ."

Paul Taylorson

"These huge creations are definitely worth a visit. Towering some 30m high, they certainly draw attention. They are situated near a canal, and central to the Helix park with lots of things to do and see for families. Hire a bike, or just enjoy the walks, play areas and much more."
