"It’s well worth a visit to see the trains at Grosmont, even if you don’t want to travel in it. The station is full of character and both the diesel and steam engines arrived at the platform when we came. It’s a wonder seeing them in action! The station car park is £5 all day, or if you don’t mind a 200 yard walk, there’s another car park down the road for £3.80 all day.
It’s dog friendly and has toilets, tea room, gift shop on the platform.
You can also take a walk to the engine shed, just across the way from the station and through a tunnel, where you can see the other engines within their fleet. One of the engines was open for viewing, and you can climb up to the footplate to see it in action!
