"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic experience on the Flying Scotsman
We had an excellent day!
The staff at each station were brilliant — very helpful, clear with instructions and kind throughout.
Everything was so well organised for such a special event, especially with hundreds of people boarding the train or watching and taking photos.
Absolutely thrilled to have had the experience — a wonderful birthday treat and a day we’ll never forget! 🚂 ❤️"

"Loved my visit to this station.
We came to travel on the flying Scotsman. Are departure time was 8:45
There is lots of parking available just a short walk away run by the North Yorkshire countryside team. There are parking metres and please make sure you use them as they patrol and produce tickets readily.
The station buffet was open by 8:00 am serving hot drinks and bacon butties etc.
Apparently on our train there were 1800 passengers. We boarded very quickly and the train ran on time.
When we returned there was the next passengers ready to board the 11:40.
They were held back behind a barrier giving us plenty of space to leave the station. The volunteers are a credit to the organisation. Well worth visiting."

"Absolutely lovely day out! Magnificent locomotives and wonderful scenery. A pity the train was basically overbooked with lots of people standing.
But they lose a point for the sheer number of dogs on board... I don't mind dogs, but my wife does and there were far more dogs on board than I've ever seen on a heritage railway. Perhaps a 'dog carriage' or a 'dog free' carriage might be an idea?"
