What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Lakeland Wildlife Oasis a lovely, charming place for a focused wildlife encounter, praising its unique animals like the fossa and fruit bats. While it's not a full-day attraction, the reasonable entry fee, friendly staff, and ongoing improvements make it a worthwhile visit. Some note limited cafe options and ongoing construction, but these rarely detract from the overall positive experience.
"This is a lovely place. Lots of interesting smaller animals as well as the obligatory meerkats etc. I loved the free flying fruit bats and was very taken with the armadillo!
We spent about 2 hours here and had a snack and a coffee too. The cafe menu is a bit sparse but the food is cooked fresh and is tasty.
People have commented on the building work on site but to be honest it didn't really affect our enjoyment.
Definitely recommend and will visit again"

"Nice place to spend a couple of hours looking at the exhibits but definitely not a full day out. The entry fee is reasonable and goes towards the upkeep of the exhibits and care of the animals. As some of the previous reviews have mentioned there looks to be a lot of refurbishment works ongoing and areas are being updated.
Regardless of this there are plenty of animals to see without little legs getting too tired walking long distances. Our favourites were the meerkats and armadillo !
Also lots of areas to sit so picnics welcome."

"Such a great little park!
All staff were friendly and helpful and looked so at home caring for the animals. Yes it is a small park but with so many species I've never seen before, it certainly puts quality over quantity. The fossa is amazing to see. The indoor exhibits were larger than I expected and really enjoyed them.
From the shop, we bought two slices of brownie, a magnet and a pin badge which only cost £12. All money well spent to keep this place going!
If you can pay gift aid when entering, you really should. This entry fee was offered without the option of the extra gift aid but we saw from the website and offered to pay at the till.
Development work was still going on so can't wait to come back once all the work is finished!"
