What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors love the iconic pink ferry for its scenic charm and historical significance, making it a delightful novelty for tourists and families. While the frequent crossings and friendly service are appreciated, some locals find the operating hours restrictive and the fares expensive for regular use, lacking options for frequent travelers.
"We went as a group of around 8 people with kids back and forth. The view was beautiful and the price was very cheap, about 12 pounds for everyone. The staff were very friendly and even though the boat was a bit older, it was clean. Will definitely come back."

"Both the boats and hut are now an iconic part of Hamble, and it is lovely to see it still in use, however it is a shame that the actual use is for visitors over locals. The operating hours of 10-4 are completely useless for people with 'regular' 9-5 jobs for 5 days a week. Having lived and traveled in other areas I now realize that it is on the expensive side considering the vessel and route, fine for a novelty for tourists but now a little too much for regular use, especially considering no option for multiple or season tickets which other comparable services across the country provide. Charging for bikes but not dogs is also a choice I don't understand as dogs take up more space and are more of an inconvenience for other passengers. I find myself taking the occasional trip to feel like I am supporting the service and keep it running, but usually acknowledge I would have rather used the bridge (or even train) rather than spending £12 for my wife and I to spend more time crammed between barking Labradors.
Love the concept and aesthetic, and used to use all the time as a student, but it would need different weekday operating hours and some option for frequent travel to be viable for the employed"

"Well priced, and helped with loading my very heavy bike and panniers."
