"My Father and his wife lived in the Haven for many years and then at the house at the top of the Hill which isnt there any more. There are traces of it though as can be seen on Google Maps if you click on the little Blue Dot. I spent many, many happy times there before there was a visitor centre or even a road to the Haven.....Basildon was a lot further back then as well, you could walk for miles and not meet a soul..
