Never seems overly busy on the beach. Shame the little coffee and cake truck wasn't open last time, because it serves lovely cake & ice cream etc"

"If you are into sandy beaches, this isn't for you. This beach and many different walks around will appeal to hikers, or those who like to explore. Try Hawthorn or Easington Coilery as your starting point.
There is one approach with steep steps after you cross the raileway line. Another is under the bridge along the stream on it's right side (looking towards the sea) -this one isn't always passable and unadvisable with most kids or dogs. I once climbed down at the bridge on it's side closer to the sea, on the other, left, side of the stream. I would strongly advise against, even in dry weather.
There was once a year when the beach was covered in beautiful art, made of orange stones. There was galaxies, dogs. I posted many photos on GoogleMaps. Unfortunately winter storms get them, these wonderful artistic creations disappear. But then appear again.
I seriously wonder, why none yet organised a spring festival to make this art more regular event!
