Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the 'beautiful gardens and deer park,' finding something 'fabulous wherever you look.' The cafe is consistently praised for its excellent food, particularly the toasties, and the gift shop offers unique finds. While the Hall is private, the grounds and historical ambiance are highly recommended.

"Beautiful gardens and deer park. Something fabulous wherever you look! The café is excellent. Everyone had something delicious, and I really enjoyed my bloody Mary infused beef short rib and cheese sourdough toastie: best toastie ever. Very interesting selection of plants for sale, and the gift shop is full of novel and interesting things to buy, endangering the credit card. Thoroughly recommended."

"We visited the gardens at Helmingham Hall today. We had entry with our Historic Houses membership and the parking was free. We arrived as they opened at 10am and had the place to ourselves for half an hour. The gardens are beautiful. Very pretty at this time of the year and very well kept. The house is private and you can’t go in, but it’s a lovely, interesting house with a moat all the way round. We spent about an hour and a half exploring and then had a nice cup of coffee. Well worth a visit if you are nearby."

Caroline Baker

"Lovely place to visit. You can't access the hall as this is private but you can walk around the various scaped gardens. You are free to take a picnic and there are benches around the gardens that you can stop at. There is a farm shop and restaurant on site as well as toilets.
Parking is free.
Whilst there is accessible parking and toilets this is a garden with grass and gravel in places and no hard standing areas so those in manual wheelchairs may struggle unless you have an adapter or motor assist. Entrance is £9 for adults and takes around 3 hours to wonder around the gardens."
