"What a well run and well equipped place for an excellent day out if you love steam engines like I do!
We were there for a gala weekend and the train ticket was a pricey £45 for all day so we just stayed on the platform and the viewing areas, looked round the really good museum and engine shed, browsed in the shop and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves watching all the locomotives steaming into or out of the station.

"We had an absolutely fantastic visit to The Engine House Visitor & Education Centre! The location itself is brilliant, and for anyone who loves trains, it’s a real treat. There were so many steam engines, all beautifully preserved, and walking around them really gives you a sense of just how massive these machines are.
The centre is very interactive too. There were old chairs to sit in, lots of informative displays, and even a train you could climb into and “operate” yourself—moving the knobs and levers. My three-year-old was completely captivated, and my five-year-old loved it too. Just being surrounded by all the trains made it an unforgettable experience.
Whether you’re a little train enthusiast or an adult who appreciates engineering and history, The Engine House is a must-visit. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can’t recommend it highly enough!"

"I drove a couple of friends from Bearwood to Kidderminster and the Severn Valley Railway and we got on the steam train there. The SVR is a fantastic Heritage Railway 🛤 through Worcestershire and Shropshire ending at the SVR Terminus in Bridgnorth where we saw the ruins of Bridgnorth Castle, destroyed in the English Civil War. We were given a hearty welcome to the Bridgnorth Church built by famed engineer and canal builder Thomas Telford, after whom the Shropshire town is named...as Wallace & Gromit would say: "It was a grand day out"!!!"
