"The remains of this abbey are in the grounds of St Nicholas's Church so they mingle amongst the grave and memorial stones. A priory was built here in 1124, same time as nearby Kenilworth Castle was built. St Nicholas's Church was built in 1291. Gaining wealth, the priory became an abbey in 1447 but it was signed over to Henry the VIII in 1538. The abbey was in ruins by 1700. The ruins are dotted around and it won't take long to walk around them, but is worth going to see."
