What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the well-cared-for horses and supportive instructors, making it a great place for beginners to gain confidence. However, some have experienced unwelcoming atmospheres and confusing cancellation policies, leading to disappointment. The lack of on-site refreshments is also a common point of feedback.
"I booked a "have a go” session .The staff were welcoming and supportive, the horses were well cared for, and the venue was very clean and well maintained. The experience has given me confidence and I’m now considering taking lessons here. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. But it would be nice to have a small café or more drink and food options available. Things like protein bars, snacks, or light refreshments before or after the sessions would make the visit even better."

"I tried Lee Valley after going through the arduous account creation/booking process. Unfortunately I had a really negative experience as I found the atmosphere very unwelcoming and my horse was completely uncooperative. I would not recommend to adult riders. Lee Valley are aware of this as I reached out to them to provide feedback. In fairness, they welcomed the feedback and I was offered a free lesson (although it was at a time that did not suit me so I didn't take the offer). I haven't heard anything since then so will continue to attend the riding school in West London that I had been very much enjoying (although now that I live in East London it is much less convenient - I've decided it's worth the travel time)."

"I’ve been taking private lessons with Kerrie at Lee Valley for a couple of years now. I absolutely love coming here, it’s a highlight of my week. I find the reception staff friendly and helpful, the horses and ponies are so well cared for and seem very happy. Kerrie’s a wonderful instructor, she made me feel comfortable as an adult new rider when I initially started taking lessons. I have fun, learn and gain confidence in each lesson."
