Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the breathtaking scenery and the rewarding circular walk around Llyn Idwal, calling it an 'absolutely amazing day out.' The accessibility from the car park and the stunning mountain views are frequently praised. However, parking can be a significant challenge, and the rocky terrain requires good footwear and caution, especially for those with mobility issues or very young children.
"Absolutely amazing day out here.
The first car park outside is only small. There's another one further up 10 minute walk and then another even further away 🥴. We even struggled getting a space there.
There's a few shops, toilet and a interactive map to guide you around your route at the start.
Definitely wear good boots as its very rocky.
Start veering left at the foot of Lynn Idwal once you arrive, going clockwise. It's a much easier incline. The footpath is stoney rocky. The views are amazing and breathtaking. You will see brave rock climbers there too and some sheep here and there. There's a few streams running down from the mountain tops to stop have a paddle or drink the lovely fresh water 🤓.
The decline may be a bit tough for some people especially kids so do keep hold onto the kids so they don't slip. Steep and rocky in some parts. But defo worth the challenge. At the foot coming back down you can relax at the small pebbled beach area before the embarking back down on the rocky footpath back down to the start.
From the carpark it's about a 20 minute walk to the foot of Lynn Idwal before the circular route.
You can probably do it in about 2 hours, but as we had kids we took lots of breaks and all in all we started at 12 and finished around 5pm, so 5 hours of great fun 😀"

"Beautiful lake walk. Lots of uneven ground and small clambers, so best to avoid if you have mobility issues or small children you're considering bringing. It's fine for juniors, my son is eleven and enjoyed the walk. The weather unfortunately changed not long after we arrived. Make sure you're appropriately dressed including good footwear. Car park is small and I can see it filling quickly at peak times such as the weekend. We visited mid week and it was fine. £4 parking fee for four hours. Toilets at the car park along with a snack bar and a great little visitor centre."

"Easy to hike, beautiful and peaceful location.. except for the irritating flies."
