What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Llyn Llech Owain Country Park for its beautiful lake, scenic woodland walks, and family-friendly amenities like playgrounds and a cafe. It's a popular spot for dog walkers, offering a pleasant environment for a leisurely outing. However, a significant drawback for many is the persistent issue with dog waste on the trails, which can detract from the natural beauty and overall experience. Some paths can also become very muddy and flooded, requiring appropriate footwear.
"A beautiful area for a walk with all of the family and especially for dogs. Big public pay & display car park with a cafe and public toilets. Has several routes you can take and the main route takes about an hour."
Charlotte
"I must say in the last two weeks, there was no trail without a dog poo, and I mean it's everywhere. Can't enjoy looking at surroundings, cause you need to watch in case you stwp in the dogs poo! I go to this country park at least 4 times a week , and it is now really off putting. Instead of fresh air and woodland scent, I am breathing in stink of dog poo!! There are bins on the grounds, maybe council needs to provide free bags? Laziness on dog owners behalf! I don't know, shame on dog owners who leave dogs poo behind!!! Also council could do something to improve paths, we can't help weather but it's hard to manoeuvre between dogs poo and flooded areas . I always enjoyed going there, was worth paying £1.20 for an hour, lovely fresh walk , and so local."

"It's not a big park but there are a multitude of paths through the woodland. The lake has a circular walk of about 30 to 40 minutes if taken at a reasonably gentle pace. There are plenty of hides in which to sit and with binoculars maybe catch sight of waterfowl or other wildlife. After an explore around the park there is the opportunity to sit and buy refreshments at the park cafe. If you have young children with you there is also a playground to keep them occupied.
It is very popular with dog owners and I had my pooch with me the day I visited. Take note that it isn't a place to let your dog off its lead though and there are notices through the park advising against such. The risk to established wildlife is presumably considered to be at risk if dogs are let loose.
We spent a relaxing 3 or 4 hours wandering around Llyn Llech Owain Country Park. I recommend you try the same."
