"Visited the public observatory tour and perseid meteorshower evening while on holiday. It consisted of a planetarium, lecture, tours of the telescopes and technology center, stories around a campfire and of course some stargazing. Was a clear night so got to see a good few shooting stars even caught one on the mobile phone. Staff there were very knowledgeable and they have some amazing kit there. The whole event was very interesting and great for my daughter too. Would highly recommend going to one of their evenings."

Matt Crofts

"What a super interesting evening. I came on the public open day. All staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The night sky was clear with a number of different telescopes 🔭 looking at different parts of the night sky. The tour was fantastic looking back at the historical telescopes. Planetarium was probably my favourite part of the evening. It’s definitely worth the visit. Highly recommended. Thank you 🙏"

Malcolm Petfield

"A great day out. Really friendly volunteers and staff. Historic instruments, and a great atmosphere. A shame I'm not closer or I would visit more often."
