"Excellent, quirky, small independent airfield museum, well worth a visit if you are interested in WW1, WW2 and post war military aviation in the UK. Displays are a bit idiosyncratically laid out, but the information and sheer density of exhibits is amazing. A labour of love for a famous Battle of Britain airbase. Parking free on street."
Mark Godson
"Though small, this museum is well worth a visit! Like its more famous counterpart Biggin Hill, North Weald was an important fighter station during the long hot summer of 1940 and the airfield has quite a lot of its wartime infrastructure still intact.
The museum is situated in what used to be the station office, behind the "Debt of Honour" Memorial, next to what used to be the main gate. Check their website for opening times but it's usually 12 noon till 5pm Saturdays and Sundays. Admission £5. Concessions £2.50.
What is now the main gate is located on the other side of the airfield, just off the A414. Here you will find the original Control Tower and a full size replica of a Hawker Hurricane, climbing up and away. Very evocative!"
