I've been to EVERY London Underground station. And I'm giving them all ratings, one by one. Amongst 272 stations, 11 have the word 'wood' in the name. But will Oakwood come top of the tree or will want to take the quickest root out of there? #london #tube #tierlist

Oakwood, London. Aug 2022 - Oakwood Underground Station - Charles Holden 1933. - This week I had the pleasure of enjoying a tour of the Charles Holden Piccadilly line stations with @c20society. I must admit on this station I missed all the juicy info because I was busy taking photos. These 3 stations are a thing of beauty. I'll share a pic I took of Southgate later today. We also toured other pla...

Reviews Summary

Oakwood Station is praised for its unique Art Deco architecture and crucial step-free access, making it a functional and visually interesting stop. While some reviews mention minor issues like non-working clocks in the past, the station is generally seen as clean, well-lit, and served by helpful staff, offering a pleasant experience for its purpose.

"It's not the most beautiful station, but if you need to get to or from Oakwood, it's absolutely perfect!"

Joe Lonsdale

"A beautiful tube station constructed in Art deco style at heart of suburbian Enfield, North of London. It's part of the Piccadilly line connecting Enfield to Central London and Heathrow. Staff is helpful and friendly. Bikes are not allowed except folding ones. Open hours from 5:00 to 23:47 (latest train to Heathrow - check for updates of the service!)"

L H Silva-Clark (Tupinambah)

"The Charles Holden Grade II listed station is an Art Deco architectrual marvel, look up in the ticket hall and see the concrete beams all crossing against each other and working in collosal amounts of tension to keep the effective 'box' from falling apart.
The station is only a 12 minuite walk away from Cockfosters if not in a rush. Some (but few) trains terminate here, they are headed north towards the Cockfosters depot which one can still see when looking out West between Oakwood, and Cockfosters.
The station claims that trains travel Westbound towards central London, however, a keen eye would not that the trains infact depart in more of an Easterly direction.
The -only- station with step-free access from the train to street-level, on the Cockfosters extention of the Piccadillly line.
The station used to be called 'Enfield West' when it was a terminus to the piccadilly line for a few years in the 1930s.
It has 28 CCTV cameras if you are interested (allegedly)."
