"We stumbled on this little harbour via the Millennium way cycle route. A place full of history and stunning view down Pembrey beach.

Would recommend a visit and it’s free and gives a good history of the area."

"I grew up here when I was a toddler in the early 1950s and we lived in a little semi-detached cottage that no longer exists.

Alongside us were a row of 2 or three houses completing the terrace. I have fabulous memories of living here though it was very basic and tough for my parents, I had a wonderful time. The winters were cold wet, windy and brutal, but the summer was brilliant.

Unfortunately, the toilet was outside and at the far end of the terrace, tough on the adults, - I was too little to use it and would use the potty, or pee on the beach out the back, my younger brother was in nappies. I had loads of adventures, including apparently falling over the harbour wall into the mud - luckily the tide was out at the time. And, walking out to the end of the pier alongside this huge wall that I would climb to look over to see the other side. My wife laughed when I took her there in the eighties to show her where I grew up and discovered this 'huge' wall was only about chest height for an adult.

We moved to a brand spanking new 3 bed council house in Pembrey after a few years. It was pure luxury by comparison but I still have my memories of the old harbour.

Dan y Bryn was another set of adventures.

Cheers and keep safe.🙂👍
