Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Oughtonhead Common Nature Reserve for its peaceful atmosphere, scenic river walks, and diverse natural habitats, making it a lovely spot for a quiet escape. Families appreciate the play area and open spaces. However, the limited parking and issues with off-leash dogs can detract from the experience for some.

"Walked the past on a wet weekend in February and it was really nice. The path itself was wide and easy to follow, alongside the river with some nice views through trees and over some fields. In parts the fields of cows were a bit boggy, so it was a risk to stray off the path, but enjoyed exploring the reserve.

Found a tiny car park nearby that could fit about 5 cars in it, though it wasn't full on a cold and wet day. There seemed to be limited other parking options nearby."

"Great natural nature reserve and park, lots of natural trails, lots lovely flowers and plants. Animals. Lovely river. Big field and little park the children enjoyed. Only down side not much parking spaces there is about 6 depending on car sizes and peoples parking skills, but can park outside peoples houses and side walk as walk up."

Kiki

"Beautiful walk but sadly ruined by lots of off lead dogs, all with zero recall & disrespectful rude owners that give you verbal abuse when you ask them to pop their dogs on a lead. Avoid completely if you have reactive dogs or nervous children. Won’t be visiting again, prime place for a future dog attack."
