What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Queen's Jubilee Nature Trail as a haven for wildlife and a pleasant spot for dog walks, enjoying the seasonal changes. However, recent contractor work has led to concerns about habitat damage and changes to the landscape, with some visitors expressing disappointment over tree removal and wetland alterations. Parking has also become more restricted.
"Unfortunately this area has been horribly damaged again by contractors working for Green Sefton. So called Green Experts that dont seem to have the faintest idea what they are doing. It was once free to park up and down the road but then Sefton double yellowed 95% of the road. Then they blocked off the end of the road with a locked gate. Then cutting down swathes of old mature trees that provided both shade and a wind break under the ridiculous pretence that 100+ year old trees are not native to the area. Those old enough will remember the council halfed this nature reserve years ago to make a Leaning Centre (that no one now visits) and to build a massive overprice carpark which is now regularly frequented by criminal travellers. Then they flattened more land to make the 'park and ride' which is no longer in use. Only Caledonian Coaches use and for some reason need 24 hour spot lights. Now Green Sefton have absolutely destroyed the wetland area. Ripping up all the plants and cutting down the trees leveling the wetland presumably so it will dry out. Watch this space people and mark my words 'our land' will first be turning secretly into another overprice carpark then that will be sold off to private property developers. What's happening at Sefton Council is literally criminal in my opinion. One year after the death of our late Queen they even dug up the sign telling people this is The Queens Jubilee Nature Reserve."

"Small "nature reserve" that's a haven for wildlife. Pathways located through the reserve (please, please keep to them) and please keep dogs on leads. Pay to park available at the Southport Eco Centre, which is a 5 minute walk away. Please also take your litter home."

"This is my dog's favourite place to walk. It's great to see the changes in the place throughout the season's. I'm a little concerned about the large digger and tree removal going on at the moment and just hope it's removing invasive ones and not planning to build on it!"
