What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the River Hiz Walk for its historical charm and abundant wildlife, making it a peaceful escape. While some note Google Maps' occasional mislabeling, the well-maintained Hicca Way path offers a pleasant experience for nature lovers and history buffs alike.
"Named wrongly by google maps as the river Purwell which ends in Ickleford. The river starts in Ickleford and ends in Henlow where it joins and becomes the river Ivel. It has a long history and in many places used to be a lot wider. Once home to 3 mills as listed in the doomsday book, the foundations of one or a later building still remain on the area called the mill pits. A great place to walk as the Hicca way runs along side it. There is plenty of wildlife along the banks which makes it an ideal place for keen photographers and bird watchers all year round."
