"Located in the old Poole Lifeboat house, the Poole Lifeboat Museum is definitely worth a visit. Though fairly small, the old Boathouse houses a treasure trove of exhibits, central to which is their 1938 Surf Class Lifeboat, which was also one of the "Dunkirk Little Ships" by the way. Now, she proudly stands poised at the head of the old slipway, awaiting a call to service that will never come.
Outside the museum building is a memorial to all those servicemen who left Poole for the Normandy Landings in June 1944.
