From what I've seen/read the city itself is walkeable but I'm not sure what the public transportation situation is in terms of getting to castles outside the city. Also would love to hear recommendations for specific castles! We're currently trying to figure out if we need to…

"Great visitor centre and cafe. Did the wetland trail. There are several hides and you are quite a way from the water do bring binoculars or you can hire them for £7.
Parking (a charge) is spacious and there's an underpass for the road.
We went to see the pink-footed geese and were not disappointed. Heard them before we saw them."

"I absolutely loved this hike/walk.

From the totally accessible Visitors Centre, to the different routes up, to the views, flora and fauna! This was a perfect autumn 🍂🍁 walk.

From the RSPB shop, I bought 5 pins - barn owl, short-eared owl, fly agaric, peacock butterfly, and sunflower.

I saw a red 🐿️ squirrel and a peacock butterfly.

Woodland creatures and flora were cleverly carved into tree stumps and trunks.

There were benches along the way for resting during one's ascent or descent.

Clear markings along the way were also very helpful.

The moon 🌝 was showing off all day; in one skyscape, 2 planes had made a Saltire 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (using their jet streams) under her."
