"Beautiful historic church dating back to the 14th century, situated very close to the sea just west of St Monans.
The building has a long, storied history. It was badly damaged by a fire in 1544, saw major restoration work in the early 19th century which significantly altered the interior, and in the mid 20th century was renovated again, reversing some of the previous alterations.
The church was locked when I visited in winter, but still worth a look as the exterior and setting are particularly impressive. I found the churchyard well maintained, and a peaceful place to spend a few moments just taking in the surroundings while walking the Fife Coastal Path.
The cemetery to the west of the church rises up the hill, with good views along the coast to Newark Castle and Elie Ness."
