What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Trolleybus Museum Sandtoft for its authentic atmosphere, engaging rides, and the passion of its volunteers. The motorbus tours and on-site cafe are frequently highlighted as pleasant surprises. While some might initially perceive it as a simple shed, the depth of history and interactive experiences make it a highly enjoyable and worthwhile visit for all ages.
"At first it feels like an overcrowded giant shed that won't take long to go round BUT besides a wealth of historical trolleybuses to ride one is amazing, smooth, quiet and make current day trams seem noisy. They also run buses at set times around local area, showing old runways of 2nd world war and other interesting things of area. A surprise was cafe now serves hot sausage and bacon baps as well as many cakes etc, wish this was on web site, l would have given mcdonald's a miss.
Around area was an ice cream van, a cinema showing a few facts re trolley buses, and other buildings with bikes, another with old toys and of course a shop with toys for the boys.
Toilets are adequate for men, no idea for females but none where seen crosslegged so must be OK.
I must admit, day was helped by guide on tour bus who was a delight, and pointed out many of above parts to visit which l initially missed. A good 4 hours spent looking round and talking to volunteers."
