"We've visited the gardens many times over the years but have never been inside the house. As Historic Houses members we decided to take advantage of a free visit & do the house tour. It was on an upstairs downstairs theme & was really insightful, interesting & funny. Our guide Anne was brilliant & had us all wowed with her stories. The house has a lot of history & a lot of beauty & is well worth a visit. The gardens were lovely as always & we had a good walk around the estate & over towards the lake, dodging hundreds of visiting geese. The cafe was very busy so we just grabbed a cheese scone & a bit of cake (delicious). They also make an excellent hot chocolate!"

"A beautiful walled garden, just as it says on the tin. We spent an hour wandering amongst the topiary and the flower beds admiring dahlias and lots of other plants that were no less beautiful just because I didn't know what they were. Tbh we would have stayed longer but this was a very hot day."

"What a fabulous garden; a real credit to all concerned!
I was very fortunate to be able to visit as part of a teciprocal agreement with Burnby Hall Gardens in Pocklington and am so glad that I did!
The gardens and the grounds are beautifully laid out with bright planting schemes in a series of gardens each on a different theme.
After visiting the cafe and touring the gardens I explored the extensive grounds before making my way back to the cafe exterior to view the plant sales area.
Well worth a visit; highly recommended!"
