"Its a beautiful view, and a unique location for a castle/outpost. It was free, a nice little walk up with the dog! Lots signs with information too!
I would say to keep dogs on a short leash, and to keep kids close by as there are lots of places you could fall/injure yourself if messing around.
Parking isn't great if you follow Google maps, so id recommend 'sat nav' to 'readymoney carpark', which is very inexpensive. And only a short walk though back corner of carpark, down to beach and then up other side to castle!"

"Nice remains of a castle / gun tower. Free to access after a steep climb through the woods. Not very big, more of a passing visit, or a nice stop if walking the coast or visiting the beach here. No car parking at the site, you need to park in town. Great views of the surrounding coastline too 👍🏼"

"Great castle, picture perfect views. The only things that let it down were the staff who didnt tell us the garden was shut and the castle being so busy that you couldn't even get inside. Adding another option for just travelling over to the castle but not entering would make more sense. Most people are just interested in navigating the causeway."
