The tattoo -> The place. Stafford Castle, Staffordshire, England, UK. 📍 I made a promise that I would get this tattoo, and venture to the exact spot in my 20s. This is me at 29 and 364 days old, fulfilling that promise. FYI, I got a little emotional while feeling exhausted from the adventure, and overwhelmed with gratitude for a decade that meant so much. I decided to keep that moment in since...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Stafford Castle for its rich history, free admission, and scenic walks. The visitor centre and herb garden are noted as pleasant additions. However, the small car park and steep walk can be challenging for some, and the limited opening hours of the shop and visitor centre are a point of consideration. InstagramReddit

"Visited Stafford castle, really nice walk round the perimeter and up to the castle. Very unspoiled. Plenty of parking. Visitor centre and tearoom. Lovely ruin to visit. Unfortunately we chose a day when there was a school visit, so we couldn't go into the tea room/visitor centre or go inside the castle so we will have to go again! The castle entry is free."

Claire Ģordon

"Lovely place for a walk (manageable for a toddler) and cute summer trail on for kids over summer. The visitor centre has costumes that can dress up in which our biggest lad(3yrs) really loved. We really enjoyed our visit!"

Beth Powell

"This is great place to maybe walk your dog, let the kids run off steam and look at Stafford history, but if you're expecting a proper castle you may feel a little underwhelmed.....
If you are expecting Warwick Castle type of size or structure, you won't see any Port Cullis, Drawbridge, Turrets or grey stone, sorry.
This Castle is quite small, and in ruins and its half patched up with red brick.
Stafford Castle has been demolished and rebuilt a couple of times and this shows in the material it's built of which maybe only 200 years old.
You can go inside the walls and have a nosey too so it's not all bad, the visitor centre is very good, there's clean toilets and free entry/parking too

The real beauty of this place is the view from Castle Hill and the surrounding meadows, woodlands."
