Reviews Summary
St. Andrew's Church Stratton is widely appreciated for its peaceful atmosphere and historical significance. Visitors often praise its beautiful stained-glass windows and unique artistic features like the knight effigy and Pinwill sisters' carvings. However, some find the stained glass to be quite dark, and parking nearby can be a challenge.
"Fascinating church to look around although parking nearby may be a problem. There is a very fine church guide with a good amount information and pictures. There has been a lot of development on the site since the original Norman church, the last major restoration being in 1888 The Lychgate is not quite 100 years old. There is a 13th century effigy of an armoured Knight carved in limestone. The East Window is a Burne-Jones/Morris one of only eight or nine in Cornish churches. Fine detail but too much dark glass for my liking. Lookout for carvings by the Pinwill sisters."
