"With the cost of 6 millions, this Tay Bridge was completed in 3.5 years and opened by the Queen’s mother in 18 August 1966.

The stunning Tay bridge crosses the Firth of Tay. This impressive 1.4 miles long bridge between Dundee and Wormit is one of the longest road bridges in Europe.

Today’s bridge is the second of two bridges built, the first was opened in 1878. After 18 months, December 1879 the central span collapsed during gale force winds and caused a major train accident, six train carriages carrying 75 passengers plunging into the ice cold water and unfortunately no one survived."

"Before you begin. Almost 5km back and forth. It's just seems to keep going. Traffic on both sides of you as you walk. I great view of Dundee. Only Law Hill is better."
