What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Shay Halifax is lauded for its incredible match-day atmosphere and strong sense of community, making it a beloved local sports ground. Visitors appreciate the friendly locals and the vibrant fan zone. However, some reviews point to the condition of the seats and the average quality of food and drink as areas for improvement.
"As non-league grounds go, you don't get any better Halifax Town. Close to both town centre and railway station. The Shay has been upgraded gradually over the years to a great standard. Good views, friendly locals, helpful stewards, and the best roast potatoes (with gravy or chilli) I've had in a long time.
The reason it loses a star (unfortunately) is the state of the seats. They are filthy, with some covered in bird droppings (literally from the roof)."
Davie Watts.
"As a Halifax season ticket holder I always enjoy visiting the Shay Stadium. Although the bar queue can get quite long at times the staff are always courteous and friendly. The loos are clean and the stands/boxes are comfortable."

"The shay it’s at a pretty good stadium inside n out the football might not be up to standard but the rugby has the high level s of passion plus the home of Andysmanclub plus I have attended a few events at this stadium it makes you feel very welcome I would so it’s very accommodating puts some local grounds to shame so yes any sports events going on go give them a watch they miss a good fan base but have potential."
