"Fantastic place with a beautiful atmosphere, cafe, toilet facilities and small book shop a short walk away, surrounded by lovely woodland. You have to have a tour guide and book in advance but there are lots of spots available (and this is August!) one of my favourite national trust visits. Also to add - our tour guide was fantastic, she gave us lots of interesting information while still allowing us the time and space to walk around, take photographs and enjoy the atmosphere. Well worth a look!"

"We had the most glorious guided walk. We were able to forest bathe and then stroll over Egdon heath and climb an ancient barrow to enjoy a spectacular view. Out guide Alban was superb. We were so grateful for sharing his knowledge with us. But be sure to get your lunch order on before 2pm when the toasties stop."

"We didn't go inside the cottage but the walk through the woodland is beautiful with plenty of places to sit and rest, you can see the cottage from the outside which is absolutely stunning.
There is a cafe which also sells a few souvenirs and if you're taking your dog there is also a dog wash available by the visitor centre.
Parking prices varies from
1 hour for £1:50 to the whole day for £10:00."
