Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Titanic Engineers' Memorial as a poignant and moving tribute to the bravery of the ship's engineers. Its location in the pleasant East Park adds to the reflective atmosphere. However, some visitors have noted issues with the park's general upkeep and the presence of homeless individuals, as well as frustratingly expensive parking in the vicinity.

"The Engineers’ Memorial is located in a nice park. It’s easy to find as it’s quite large. It’s a beautiful piece dedicated to the workers who, knowing they weren’t going to escape, kept to their posts so as to help others escape. Heroes."

Vanessa Becker

"The Titanic Engineers' Memorial in Southampton is a poignant tribute to the 35 engineers who lost their lives aboard the RMS Titanic during its tragic maiden voyage in 1912. Located in East Park, this striking bronze and granite monument was unveiled in 1914 and honors the bravery and self-sacrifice of the ship's engineers, who stayed at their posts to maintain power and keep the ship's lights burning as the vessel sank. The memorial features a central bronze figure representing "Engineering," flanked by reliefs depicting the engineers at work. The names of those who perished are inscribed on the monument, serving as a lasting reminder of their courage and the critical role they played in the disaster. The Titanic Engineers' Memorial stands as a powerful symbol of dedication and heroism in the face of unimaginable tragedy."

Eranda Janaka

"The park and gardens were nice, but unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing.
There were a significant number of homeless people, some sleeping on benches, others behaving inappropriately (peeing in the bushes), which really affected the general atmosphere.
Parking was also frustratingly expensive: £1.50 per 30 minutes on the street? That’s more than what I usually pay for a full hour in Winchester or northern Southampton parking lots.
Overall, not worth the visit..."
