Titchmarsh nature reserve ☀️ Listen to the sound of birdsong whilst walking by the water - one of my favourite combinations! It takes about an hour to walk around the circular route, (minus the time spent in the hides) or you can extend it by walking around the fishing lake as well. I sometimes use Strava to find alternative routes and explore the local area when I’m looking to get in some extra...

Explored Titchmarsh Nature Reserve for the first time yesterday. Quiet, open paths and plenty of space to just walk and switch off. Didn’t know what to expect but it was a great simple, peaceful, and right on the doorstep.Titchmarsh is just outside Thrapston, part of the Nene Valley wetlands with a mix of water, fields, and wildlife. One to come back to for sure.

Visitors praise Titchmarsh Nature Reserve for its tranquil atmosphere and abundant wildlife, making it a peaceful escape. While some note that maintenance could be improved and facilities are basic, the free access and natural beauty are significant draws. It's a beloved local spot for quiet walks and birdwatching.

"Such a tranquil, peaceful walk. A nice sunny afternoon in late October is best spent outdoors. Its definitely worth a visit, the paths around are not very muddy, but if you have wellies I'd bring them. Not many parking spaces but we have never had any issues parking. Not very busy either considering it was a lovely day."

"It was greatm but can be maintained better."

"This nature reserve has a path all the way around.
There are 2 places to park.
You can park at thrapston gravel pits which is behind Nene valley surgery thrapston.
Drive down the thin road at the side of the surgery to the left.
Parking is free.
You can also park in Aldwinkle in a small car park off of Lowick Lane next to the bend.
Dogs must be kept on leads.
The paths are fairly easy but not suitable for pushchairs.
Very muddy in winter.
No toilets or cafes.
A few benches to rest on, on the way around.
A few bird hide huts too.
It took us an hour and 15 minutes to walk around at a fairly slow pace.
A nice non commercial place to walk, and you can make the walk slightly longer with a few off shoots if required."
