"We love a good iron age hillfort for its views and history. It's nice to walk around Uley Bury's ramparts but unfortunately the hillfort itself is closed to the public and you're required to keep to the pathways. The proliferation of buttercups and daisies this year 2024 are an absolute pleasure and add to any time spent in the countryside. There's space for maybe 8 cars to park at an entrance to the fort and the adjoining Coaley Wood."

"This a nice and easy walk that has great views and is very relaxing. If you park by the gate at the top then the walk is relatively flat. Do be careful if you have dogs as there are often cattle grazing on top of the hill. For the most part dogs can run free but just be aware that there are cows about."
