Hi all so thanks so much in advance. It'll be my first time exploring Cardiff and I was wondering if you guys could help me think of some lesser known things to see or do in the city? I'll be filming a YouTube video there so all your advice is much appreciated! Cheers :)

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Victoria Park is widely praised as a lovely, peaceful, and well-maintained green space in Cardiff, ideal for families and relaxation. Visitors highlight the excellent, inclusive splash pad and playgrounds, alongside beautiful gardens and sports facilities. Some guests found the addition of paid fair rides during holidays to be a detractor from the park's natural beauty.
"Victoria Park is a lovely and peaceful place to spend time, and we really enjoyed our visit here. It’s one of the nicest parks in Cardiff, perfect for relaxing, walking, or spending time with family and friends. The park is clean, well-maintained, and full of natural beauty. There are lots of open green spaces, colourful flowers, and tall trees that make the whole area feel calm and fresh.
One of the best things about Victoria Park is how family-friendly it is. There’s a great playground for children, with safe and fun equipment. During warmer days, the splash pad area is a big hit with kids, and it’s free to use. You can see families having picnics, children playing, and people enjoying the sunshine. There are also plenty of benches and shady spots if you just want to sit and relax.
The walking paths are smooth and easy, perfect for a quiet stroll or a jog. There’s also a small café inside the park where you can grab a coffee, ice cream, or snacks. It’s a nice touch that makes the visit even more enjoyable.
Overall, Victoria Park is a peaceful escape in the middle of the city. We had a lovely time and will definitely come back again soon!"

"Lovely park within easy reach of public transport and fairly easy to park near.
There are multiple well designed and segregated, but positioned adjacent, play areas allowing children to use age appropriate frames and rides whilst allowing clear sight lines for parents to monitor this free play.
The splash pad, built into the old paddling pool, offers children excitement and refreshingly welcome cool down opportunities within a safely confined area. The sensory features and easy access make this a really well designed inclusive area of the park.
Tennis courts, enclosed 5 a side pitch are available and the beach volleyball club at the residential end of the park makes really good use of the old bowls club whilst still maintaining community access and engagement. During the summer there are broadcasted competitions and in the office season teams train there and provide coaching to young beach volleyball wannabees.
A recent addition of the customer made work out frame gives people the chance to perform many work outs (pull ups, dips, sit ups) to develop their strength and attached QR codes give access to coaching via an app/website.
There is plenty of space across most of the park for picnics and leisurely strolling with the added benefit of the renovated toilets (as with other parks) creating a cafe near the main entrance for year round use and the snack bar 'Mammas Place' in the centre, which is reasonable prices compared to other venues in the cities parks.
During holiday periods there are often additional paid for rides to cater for the staycationers with kids and seasonal entertainment on the bandstand.
Lovely place with a beautiful flowery entrance area."

"What a lovely facility. The park and water park kept the grandchildren entertained for 4 hrs - the gardens were well maintained and looked great in the sun shine ! Not good to have the money grabbing kids fair rides in there ! It really spoiled the look and feel of this wonderful/beautiful park !!"
