☀️ This weekend it’s National Mills Weekend! ☀️ Let’s celebrate Waltham Windmill! 🎉 The beautiful six-storied, six sailed working mill was built between 1878 & 1880 by John Sanderson of Louth. 🙌 The sails drive the grinding stones to produce flour, which is still milled today! 🌾 If you visit Waltham Windmill today, you’ll be able to join in with the VE Day 80 Picnic, which is on now until 3pm!...

Museum Donations Appreciated

The museums are donation-based and offer a lot to see. 🙏

Mobility Considerations

The old mill has steep, narrow stairs. The grounds and some museums are accessible. ♿

A good couple of days for a few of us on this par 5 (525 yards) at our home course, Waltham Windmill Golf Club. Birdie for myself and @ollyboyd22 yesterday with Boydy having a lip out for eagle after putting it to within 6ft from 240 yards in but today it was all about @o0travis0o who got there with 2 purest of pure strikes and tamed the BIG bird with a 15ft drainer for Eagle 🦅, finished with the...

Reviews Summary

Visitors find Waltham Windmill a delightful surprise, offering a blend of history, family fun, and local charm. While the windmill's interior has challenging stairs, the affordable entry, donation-based museums, and array of shops and eateries make it a worthwhile visit for all ages. Some note that parts of the windmill are undergoing restoration, but this doesn't detract significantly from the overall experience.

"We visited on a Thursday, and Google told us it was closed but we went anyway and it was OPEN! Yeah, it's a small admission fee if your brave/fit enough to climb the small wooden stairs to the top of this huge windmill, well worth it for the views alone and the experience, it has a beautiful little village feel to it with shops and cafes, the cutest little danish dining cart I've ever seen, old school sweetie and ice cream shop, a potters, a travel agents, a florist I could go on, a lovely day out, and we were only there for an hour, for a quick stop and coffee"

"Enjoyable day here.
Lots to see & do.
Found the museum(s) very interesting and the mini train ride exciting.
Lovely cuppa in the Railway carriage.
Will return when the cp & sails are replaced on the windmill."

Samantha Kettle

"Beautiful time out with the family , came across this place by accident but was worth the visit. Both adults and children enjoyed the museum and the mill .. payment needed to enter the mill but cheap enough and you can go quite high up. Museum is donations only and well worth a look around . They have onsite free parking , a play area , mini train with cheap prices , shops and sweetshop with icecream 🍦, easy for pushchairs and people with mobility although the old mill is not mobility friendly due to age and stairs .. loads of pictures but limited sharinging so not to spoil the experience for others"
