What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Wembley Stadium is a world-class venue that delivers incredible experiences, from thrilling football matches to electrifying concerts. Visitors consistently praise the stadium's iconic architecture and the electric atmosphere during events. However, be prepared for the significant costs associated with food and drink inside, and plan your departure carefully to avoid post-event travel chaos.
"Wembley is by far one of my favourite venues in the world!! I’ve seen almost all my favourite artists here!! The atmosphere is the best in this venue! I adore the venue, the walkway, the area, the acts and artists, the security is funny and helpful, water is always handed out in the pit. Many photo opportunities around the stadium. Lots of food and drink options inside the venue. Nice toilets. Seats are comfortable. Thought the pit is my favourite for sure!! Getting out of the venue onto public transport is a bit tough and time consuming but you get there in the end. Will be returning again very soon!!"
Sarah Snow
"Fantastic venue.
Great atmosphere with ample security making it feel safe to enjoy the event.
Been many times for music concerts and it's never disappointed me.
Can be a struggle to get transport after due to 90.000 other fans doing the same."
Duncan Payne
"Wembley Stadium is one of the best stadium I've ever been to. Comfortable seats, good food and very safe. We had a great time watching a great match between two great clubs and we are even more happy that our favorite club won. Entering and exiting the stadium went smoothly. Directions to each section were well-marked, and stadium staff were helpful. My son and I loved it. I recommend going to a football match to everyone and we can't wait for the next visit to Wembley Stadium."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
When it comes to food and drink, bringing an empty water bottle is a lifesaver for keeping kids hydrated without constant expensive purchases. Exploring the Wembley Park area before the event can offer more family-friendly dining options than the stadium itself. The sheer scale of the stadium and the large crowds can be overwhelming for some children, so managing expectations and having a clear meeting point in case of separation is always a good idea.
💰 Budget Travelers
When it comes to transportation, relying on public transport is generally more economical than taxis or parking. However, to avoid the high fares and potential surge pricing after events, consider walking to a slightly further station like Alperton or Wembley Central. Researching ticket resale markets well in advance might also yield better prices, but always ensure you are buying from reputable sources to avoid scams.
🎤 Concert Goers
Post-concert travel is a major consideration. The Tube will be extremely busy. Plan your exit strategy by walking to a less congested station like Alperton or Wembley Central, or booking a ride from a few blocks away. Staying hydrated is key, so bring an empty water bottle. Embrace the atmosphere, but be prepared for the logistical challenges of exiting a massive venue.

Navigating Post-Event Travel
Several Redditors suggest walking to alternative stations. Alperton station on the Piccadilly line is frequently mentioned as a viable option, often taking around 30 minutes to reach on foot. Wembley Central station on the Bakerloo line is another alternative that can be less crowded than Wembley Park. For those considering taxis or ride-sharing, booking from a few streets away from the stadium can also help bypass the immediate congestion.
Some attendees have found that leaving just before the very end of the concert, perhaps after the surprise songs, can help beat the worst of the exit crowds. However, this means missing the final moments of the performance. Ultimately, patience and a well-thought-out exit plan are key to a less stressful departure from Wembley.
Wembley's Food & Drink Scene
For those who do plan to purchase food and beverages inside, it's worth noting that Wembley Stadium operates largely on a cashless system. While some vendors might accept cash, it's advisable to have a card ready for all transactions. A key tip for staying hydrated, especially on warmer days, is to bring an empty water bottle. These can be taken through security and refilled at water fountains within the stadium, a much more economical and environmentally friendly option than buying multiple bottled waters.
While the selection inside might be convenient, the quality and cost often lead visitors to explore the dining options in the surrounding Wembley Park area before or after an event. This area offers a wider variety of cuisines and price points, allowing visitors to tailor their culinary experience to their budget and preferences.
Concert Merch Strategies
For high-demand items, arriving early is crucial. Some fans have reported queuing for hours, even from midday, to get their hands on popular merchandise. However, for those who miss out or prefer a less intense experience, there's often a 'merch megastore' that might offer a wider selection and potentially less frantic shopping. It's also worth noting that some fans have found success in purchasing merch on the very last day of a multi-night run, as stock might be replenished or less picked over.
It's important to check the specific event's guidelines regarding merchandise purchases, as policies can vary. Some creators recommend checking social media for real-time updates on merch availability and queues on the day of the event.
