What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Weoley Castle Ruins for its historical significance and the immersive experience offered during special event days, particularly the medieval reenactments and family-friendly activities. However, access can be limited, with the site often only open for pre-booked events, leading to disappointment for those who arrive without checking.
"We visited on 19th July as the Museum was staging a fun day/open day. We booked tickets online via Birmingham Museums for a minimal fee (about £3). Well worth it to support local heritage sites. The guided tour was very good. We had a go at the archery which was fun but more difficult than you think. Really good event considering it would have been run by volunteers in the main.
NOTE as per other reviews check with Birmingham Museums when/if the site is open before visiting."

"It was my lucky day as I walked by the castle today. There was a big Medieval show with amazing history enthusiasts. The entrance was free, but the place deserves your generous donations. The narrations were all in character and it's the best place for families to spend half a day there with the kids. The costumes were beautiful and actors were very knowledgeable with history. Big shout to Birmingham Museums, Stronghold Re-enactments, and Up An At Em History for the amazing show."

"Great if you can get in. Only open for events and bookings at the moment, otherwise there is a viewing platform which gives a limited view of the castle ruins."
