What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Whitespots Country Park offers rugged natural beauty with historical echoes, particularly its lead mine remnants and access to Helen's Tower. Visitors praise the stunning panoramic views and its dog-friendly nature, though the terrain is consistently muddy and signage is poor. Be prepared for an adventurous, less-manicured experience.
"Very little signage. Good stout footware required. Very muddy. Can easily stumble across the trails bikes area so be careful. Be careful with dogs. Awesome views from the top"
Laura Henry
"Whitespots or the "Lead Mines" as it's known to locals. Steeped in history , would love to learn more and see photos of it all those years ago. Some information signs are erected around the area but these have been defaced by vandals making it hard to read the information on them. Plenty of good walks, either to the top (With views of Newtownards, Belfast or even the Irish sea on a good day!) or around the old structures. You can even walk to Helen's Tower from here. Good footwear is recommended!"
Neal Finlay
"Amazing to walk the dogs here. You can go up to Helen's Tower from here and let the dogs roam free. Watch out for Trial Bikers. They actually shouldn't be in the part where the walk to Helen's Tower is."
