What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Wickham Square is praised for its abundance of antique shops and the historical charm of the nearby Chesapeake Mill. Visitors appreciate the convenience of parking, especially the free parking on Sundays. However, some find the square's primary function as a car park detracts from its potential as a public space.
"There are some amazing antique shops here, a five minute walk away is Chesapeake mill, built from the timbers of a ship captured by the British during a brief war with America a long time ago. Inside you will be tempted with vintage items.
The parking is currently free on a Sunday. There are area few places to eat and there are sometimes additional antique fairs in the local community centre."

"Great village square lots going on with great pubs restaurants and many other good shops - well worth a visit 🍻🍷☕️🍰🥗😊😊"

"Boxing day, just the one day of the year, what was originally a morning meet for bikers has become a free for all for motoring enthusiasts with all sorts of automotive gold turning up to join in from steam engines, hot rods, customs, classics, army, sports bikes, Mods and their highly decorated scooters, its free, just turn up from around 8am onwards.
As the gathering is open, cars are constantly turning up and leaving, so wandering around the Square just the once is not an option as the collection of cars constantly changes
There is always food to buy along with a warm cup of tea and some of the shops are open for sandwiches etc. A good day out which has not failed to please so far in the last ten years I have attended."
