What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise York's Chocolate Story for its engaging and informative tours, with guides like Austin, Pip, and Amy receiving special mentions for their enthusiasm and knowledge. The interactive elements, particularly the chocolate making workshop and the generous tastings, are highlights for all ages. While some find it a bit pricey, most agree the experience is well worth the cost for a fun and delicious dive into York's sweet history.
"York chocolate story, although expensive, is a must see when visiting York. You might be thinking, what’s so special? - so did I, but after booking online and going into the shop ,which is filled with many delights, also very expensive, but worth it, you’ll be taken up to where the story starts with a tour guide and from there on the story will begin. You are given chocolate tasters as you go around, learning all types of information relating to chocolate, it’s origin, flavours, different companies and markets, how it’s made and then actually get to make some and take some home yourself. I found our tour guide, although I have forgotten his name, was extremely knowledgeable and made it so fun and interactive. We were here for nearly 2 hours and found the experience worth the money as it was extremely interesting while also allowing you to try different types of chocolate and learn something new. Our tour guide is in the pictures below, please can the company make sure this member of staff gets a huge pat on the back as he genuinely was amazing!! Wheelchair and disabled friendly, child friendly, toilets were immaculate."

The tour was not only delicious but also a lot of fun from start to finish, and we even received samples of chocolate along the way. Highly recommend for chocolate lovers and anyone visiting York!"

"Nice little tour that took just over an hour and included a history of chocolate in York (more significant than I thought!), the process of making chocolate from the pods, and a little hands on workshop. With some relevant chocolate tasting at every corner. Plus, our tour guide Pip was great!"
