I’m staying in American Fork from mid October-mid November. I’m not old enough to rent a car, so I plan on ubering. Where are the best places around the American Fork/SLC area to hike, and sight see? I also want to go to Moab, but how can I get there? Is there public transit of any sort?
Lots of good stuff near AF. Horsetail Falls, Battle Creek, Mahogany Mountain are all 5-10 mile drives. Go south a bit and you have Provo Canyon, and American Fork Canyon is literally right there from American Fork (well, Alpine and Cedar Hills. But it's hard to miss). Do note…

Recommendations for a spot to decompress
I’m looking for recommendations on a place I can go to sit by myself and decompress. I grew up in California, so my mom always took me to the beach when everything just felt like too much. Are there any bodies of water - creeks, rivers, lakes, etc. that offer some solitude in…

"When I get to the canyon, I always drive straight up to the Tibble Creek reservoir, and campgrounds. Very quiet and well kept camping spots and bathrooms (at least when I was there). The reservoir is super fun and clean and I truly enjoyed my experience. I’m thrilled that it’s dog friendly as this is our go to spot when I need to just get away. It was just me and my dogs, and it makes the perfect three day weekend for us."

"Beautiful drive. The leaves are still bright."

"I’ve never thought to find a place like this so close to us. The canyon has so many campgrounds and picnic areas that we can not even count them all. The nature itself surrounding us is outstanding. You can take not only your car but your trailer (if you guys have one) and find a place to pull over for a fee. The recreation fee (not camping) is only $6 for three days. By the way, It’s just a perfect place for families."
