We played at the arctic valley ski area for the second year in a row. ChugachFest delivered the heat as always. Great sound guys, tasty food and lots of cold brewskies plus a killer view of the mountains. Oh yeah, that mystery drummer was Phil from sundog. More cowbell. #livemusic #caseysmithproject #strongenoughtohold #indierockmusic #bestfriendsforlife #morecowbellplease

Reviews Summary

Arctic Valley is a beloved local spot praised for its stunning mountain views and natural beauty, offering both challenging ski slopes and fun tubing in winter, and rewarding hiking trails in summer. While some find the pricing a bit high and the ski runs steep for beginners, the overall experience is enhanced by community events and the unique Alaskan wilderness setting.

"Nice little skiing area. Beautiful area with some decent ski trails and lots of hiking trails. Great place to harvest berries in the summer and early fall. There are a few parking lots with a small fee. This location teeters along the border of JBER, a military installation, so be careful where you park and hike. There is a small convenience store with some souvenirs, food, and drinks."

"Attended a wedding here and it was AMAZING! The facility was a little cool inside but I’m from Virginia so don’t take my word for it. Great clean space with a beautiful view of the mountains!"

"The drive was great to get there. Beautiful views. Unfortunately everything was shut down other than the tow rope (for the kiddies) and one of the chair lifts which was an intermediate level lift. Couldn’t do much skiing due to that although my younger kids took full advantage of the tow rope. The tubing was a lot of fun so luckily we ended on a good note with that. A little pricey for the tubing but it was nice. The mocha expresso was really good. The beer bar upstairs was awesome! Cold beer with great views. Unless you have skiing experience, I don’t really recommend this spot… it’s a steep/tough mountain. More for locals."
