The sorry political war over who loves the troops more continues. And of course Trump’s appearance at Arlington today was a political photo op. And he does these often. But in fairness, Harris could have easily done the same. Especially as VP. Today, he beat her to it. But of course did it in his weirdly Trump way. The bigger issue is that both parties should be able to agree that today is the a...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently describe the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as an incredibly moving and emotional experience, highlighting the profound sense of honor and respect. The Changing of the Guard ceremony is a standout, with its solemnity and precision leaving a lasting impression. While the vastness of Arlington National Cemetery can involve significant walking, many find the experience well worth the effort, offering a powerful reminder of sacrifice and patriotism.

"Arlington Cemetery is an EMOTIONAL experience and WORTH VISITING! This was my second time visiting The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The first time was nearly 15 years ago whenever I was in high school, so I definitely had a greater appreciation for it this time. It's honestly hard to put into words. I cannot stress enough how important it is to visit if you are able to. It really puts things into perspective and makes you feel extremely proud to be an American. It was a moving experience. Everything is done in silence, so that's something to keep in mind if you are bringing kids with you. I think the changing of the guards happens either every hour on the hour or every 30 minutes depending on what time of year you go. We went in the fall. We didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked due to other conflicts and having to rearrange our schedule after finding out last minute we got accepted to tour the White House. You will likely want to spend at least several hours here! I think it closes early, too, so you want to plan ahead of that and make sure you're either going in the morning or early afternoon so you have plenty of time to see everything and walk around! You get to ride carts throughout Arlington Cemetery and they give you a tour as you go, so I would recommend opting for that if you can vs. just walking through the cemetery. This was one of our favorite aspects when visiting Washington D.C. and we would go again!"

"There are moments when we slow down and the daily buzz of to do’s and life melt away and we are brought back to a place of humility and gratitude that cause us to reflect and consider what is really important. Visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, for me, on this warm June day, was one of these solemn times. The clack of the heels of the Old Guard and the exact and choreographed moves made commemorate the sacrifices made by our brave men and women of all of the armed services perfectly and in a manner that is uniquely American. This was something I have looked forward to for a long time and it was an absolute honor to have had the opportunity to visit this sacred temple."

Tasteful Travels

"As many have said and will continue to say, this time honored tradition is a surreal experience to see in person. The honor and respect is palpable and really shows the camaraderie and dedication between service members for their fallen brothers/sisters. This is a must see for anyone curious."
